Former captain David Beckham could return to the international scene almost 12 months after he was axed following England’s World Cup quarter final exit.

Beckham has been in scintilating form for Real Madrid in the latter stages of the La Liga season. A combination of his on-field performances, England’s big “stars” failing to perform and a lack of other options has forced Steve McLaren to include him in the squad to face Brazil and Estonia.

At 32 years old and a forthcoming easy ride following his move to LA Galaxy in the MLS, Beckham can’t have many opportunities left to add to his caps tally, but McLaren has sensationally recalled him after a mediocre start to his tenure in charge.
